A Salvation Army band will lead a Christmas carol concert at Oak House museum in West Bromwich later this month.

Visitors are invited to join in the festive cheer at the museum in Oak Road on Tuesday, December 18.

Throughout Christmas 2008 a special tree at CARES will be adorned with hundreds of lights in memory of those dear to us who are gone but not forgotten.

The Remembrance Tree will be a focal point, whilst at the same time supporting a worthy cause. 

Each light is to be sponsored with a minimum donation of £5.  In return you will be given a decoration for you to hang on your own Christmas Tree.

Museum visitors in Sandwell are in for a Dickens of a Christmas at a free fun family event.

Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery has set up the special seasonal day for Saturday, December 6.

It runs from 11am to 3pm at the Holyhead Road museum and will have a distinctly Charles Dickens flavour to give a taste of a traditional Victorian Christmas.

There will be a magic show and sing-a-long, children's music workshops, Christmas storytelling, face painting and costumed characters.
